A holiday celebrated on December 25th with varying significance amongst different people. It is observed by Christians as a religious holiday commemorating the birth of Jesus, and celebrated by many non-Christians as a cultural tradition.

Popular holiday traditions include giving Christmas presents, feasting, putting up Christmas lights, and decorating Christmas trees. Santa Claus is a legendary figure associated with Christmas who is said to bring gifts to children on Christmas Eve.

In Japan, Christmas is considered a romantic holiday for couples, similar to Valentine's Day. Others celebrate the holiday by eating KFC for Christmas dinner, a custom that began in the 1970s.
