knight
A medieval soldier who wears full plate armor and who traditionally fights as cavalry on horseback. Knights were usually of noble birth and were granted the rank of knighthood after an apprenticeship as a squire. They served their lords as elite warriors and in exchange were granted lands and were bound by the code of chivalry.
