Ambiguous character. Name written 哪吒.
A Taoist protection deity in Chinese folk religion. His official Taoist name is "Marshal of the Central Altar" (中壇元帥) and his title after he became a deity is "Third Lotus Prince" (蓮花三太子).
After the death of his original body, his master Taiyi Zhenren used lotus roots and to revive him, he is thus often associated with lotus and has received many lotus-related nicknames.
He is often recognized as a trap.
Nezha has frequently appeared in Chinese mythology and ancient Chinese literature such as Fengshen Yanyi and Journey to the West.
